NARAYANASWAMY, R.

R. NARAYANASWAMY (PhD, UNSW, Sydney) served as a Professor of Finance and Accounting for nearly 35 years at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. He was a Visiting Fellow at Manchester Business School and Osaka University. He has passed the Chartered Accountants, Cost Accountants, and Company Secretaries examinations and holds the ICAI's Diploma in Management Accountancy.

Narayanaswamy has published in national and international journals, including Accounting Horizons, The British Accounting, Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance, The Journal of International Financial Management and Accounting, Research in Accounting Regulation, The International Journal of Accounting, and Accountancy. He contributed a chapter on India in Globalisation of Accounting Standards published by Edward Elgar Publishing, UK.

He has served on the boards and audit committees of Indian Railway Finance Corporation Limited and Bank of Baroda and on the ICAI's Accounting Standards Board and the Auditing Standards Board. He was Chair, Committee on Valuation Matters, and Member, Committee of Experts to Examine the Need for an Institutional Framework for Regulation and Development of Valuation Professionals, both of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. He was Chair, Working Group on Expected Credit Loss-based Framework for Provisioning by Banks of the RBI, Member, High-level Committee on Conflict of Interest, Disclosures related matters in respect of Members and Officials of SEBI, and Chair, Technical Advisory Committee, NFRA. He is Part-time Member, NFRA. He has presented his views to the Standing Committee on Finance of Parliament on accounting and auditing regulation.

Business Today named him among the best business school professors.
