CHANDAN KUMAR CHANDA, PhD, is Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering at Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur, Howrah (West Bengal). He is a Fellow of Institute of Engineers (India) and Life Member of the Indian Society of Technical Education. He has about 5 years of industrial (SAIL) and 26 years of teaching and research experiences. Dr. Chanda has published/presented more than 135 research papers in national and international journals/conferences. He has received the best paper award in International conference held in Changsha, China in 2001 and also received the Tata Rao Prize in 2014 for best paper in Electrical Engineering from Institute of Engineers (India). He has authored/co-authored several successful leading books, including Basic Electrical Engineering, Electrical Machines Laboratory Manuals, and Digital Fundamentals and Applications. His area of interests includes power system, control system, electrical machines and digital electronics.


SUMIT BANERJEE, PhD, is Associate Professor and Head, Department of Electrical Engineering at Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College, Durgapur (West Bengal). He is a Member of Institute of Engineers (India) and Life Member of the Indian Society of Technical Education. He has 3 years of industrial and 17 years of teaching and research experience. He has received the Tata Rao Prize in 2014 for best paper in Electrical Engineering from Institute of Engineers (India). Dr. Banerjee has published/presented more than 45 research papers in national and international journals/conferences including a paper at IEEE TENCON 2009 International conference in Singapore and has co-authored Digital Fundamentals and Applications. His research interests include power system analysis and stability, control system, electrical machines and digital electronics.


ABHIJIT CHAKRABARTI, PhD, is a former Professor (HAG) in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (formerly BESU), Shibpur. A former Vice-Chancellor of Jadavpur University, Kolkata and Vice-Chairman, West Bengal State Council for Higher Education, Professor Chakrabarti has published/presented 152 research papers in international and national journals and conferences and authored/co-authored 19 books on Electrical Engineering. He has more than seven years of industrial experience and around 34 years of research and teaching experience.

Professor Chakrabarti is a recipient of the Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya Award and the power medal, merit and best paper awards from Central Electricity Authority, India. His areas of interest include power systems and electric circuits.
