
N. ANANTHARAMAN, Ph.D., is a former Professor (HAG), Department of Chemical Engineering, NIT Tiruchirappalli (NITT).
Dr. Anantharaman held several key administrative positions. He served as Dean (Academic) from 2010 to 2012, and later headed the Department of Energy and Environment.
Dr. Anantharaman has published numerous research articles in both national and international journals. He has guided several students through their Ph.D. and M.S. programs and continues to mentor students in chemical engineering and related disciplines. He has chaired technical sessions at national conferences and serves as a reviewer for various academic journals.
His contributions extend beyond academia through MHRD, DST,CSIR and UKIERI sponsored projects and active involvement in continuing education programs and workshops for educators and practicing engineers. He was awarded ‘Distinguished Alumni Award’ by NITT in 2020 for Excellence in Academic/Research/Innovation/Invention. Dr. Anantharaman has also participated in international academic engagements, including a visit to NTU Singapore under the TEQIP program, and has travelled to Dubai, the United States, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia.
K. M. MEERA SHERIFFA BEGUM, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at NITT. She has served in various academic and administrative capacities, including as Associate Dean of Institutional Development and as Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering from 2018 to 2020. She was also the Chairperson of Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)–Women at NITT.
Dr. Meera has been actively engaged in teaching engineering students since 1997. Dr. Meera has published several research articles in reputed international and national journals and continues to guide doctoral students in their research work. She also serves as a reviewer for an international journal and is a member of several professional bodies, including the Institution of Engineers (India), the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, and the Indian Society for Technical Education.
She has successfully carried out MHRD, DST, CSIR, SPARC, SERB and BRICKS sponsored projects and has participated in international academic programs, visiting NUS (Singapore) under the TEQIP programme, as well as Dubai and the United Kingdom.
