Hindi Diwas

Hindi Diwas being celebrated across India Today.

Hindi language was first adopted by the Constituent Assembly of India as the official language of India on 14th September, 1949. Since then , this day is celebrated as ‘Hindi Diwas’ or ‘Hindi Day’. It serves to promote the Hindi language. The decision of using Hindi language as an official language of India was legalized by the Constitution of India which came into existence on 26th January, 1950. According to our Constitution, Hindi language,written in Devanagri script, was adopted as the official language of India under Article 343.
Hindi Diwas is celebrated throughout India to show the importance of Hindi language in the country. Various educational institutions and government offices also celebrate this day to propagate and promote the Hindi language.Awards are distributed on this day by the president of India to the people for their superiority in different fields related to Hindi at Vigyan Bhwan, New Delhi.
Hindi is credited to be the vehicle of Indian thought and culture. The language is also a link between our traditional knowledge , ancient civilization and modern progress. Hindi is our mother language which we must respect and celebrate.We should feel proud of our language.
