ABOUT THE AUTHOR(s)
Dinesh Bhatia, PhD (Biomechanics and Rehabilitation Engineering), is Associate Professor and Head of Biomedical Engineering Department, North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, Meghalaya. He has served as Assistant Professor (Sr. Grade) in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, Murthal (Sonepat), Haryana. He was selected for the Young Scientist Award (2011–12) by the Government of India to pursue further research at Adaptive Neural Systems Laboratory, Florida International University, Miami, USA. With teaching and research experience of about a decade, Dr. Bhatia has also published several papers in reputed journals. His research focuses on understanding muscle mechanics, joint kinematics and dynamics involved in performing locomotion and routine tasks and undermining its effects during an injury or disease. His teaching interests include medical instrumentation, medical informatics, signal and image processing, biomechanics and rehabilitation engineering.
