JENAMANI, MAMATA

MAMATA JENAMANI is a Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India. She has been a faculty member at IIT Kharagpur for over two decades and has established herself as a leading researcher in the interdisciplinary area of E-Business, Industrial Engineering, and Information Systems. She holds a Ph.D. from IIT Kharagpur. Her research spans auctions, recommender systems, sentiment analysis, web analytics, and supply chain management—all centered around digital innovation in business. She has also worked on the adoption of emerging technologies such as IoT, blockchain, and AI/ML for business, supply chain traceability, and various decision support applications. Dr. Jenamani has successfully led several sponsored and consultancy projects with government and industry partners, particularly focusing on e-business solutions. She has also served as the coordinator of the E-Business Center of Excellence at IIT Kharagpur. As an educator, she has guided numerous Ph.D., postgraduate, and undergraduate students for their research works. Also, she teaches courses on E-Business, Recommender Systems, Operations Research, and Information Systems. She also offers an NPTEL course on E-Business, which has become a popular and widely followed online course in the field. Prof. Jenamani has published more than 100 research papers in the leading international journals and conferences, along with a few book chapters. This textbook on E-Business reflects her long-standing engagement with teaching and research in the field.
