MUKUND JOSHI, Ph.D., formerly Associate Professor of Agronomy University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Bangalore. With 22 years of illustrious career of teaching Agronomy to UG and PG courses in addition to his long career as an agricultural scientist for 15 years, Dr. Joshi has written this textbook incorporating the latest information. He has written eight other books on agriculture, including two textbooks.
THIMMEGOWDA, M.N.(Ph.D. in Agronomy), Professor and Head (Agro-Meteorology) at UAS, Bangalore. He has a rich experience of over 18 years in teaching and research in agronomy and agro-meteorology. He has operated 18 externally funded projects, involved in developing 17 technologies for package under NRM and published 230 research papers, two lead papers, four books, and 10 book chapters.
He is recipient of ‘Vasant Rao Naik’ and ‘Chaudhary Devi Lal’ Awards from ICAR (New Delhi), ‘Young Scientist Award’ from Indian Society of Agronomy (New Delhi), ‘Nagamma Dattatreya Rao Desai Award’ for outstanding adaptive Agricultural Research for Agro-Climatic Region of Karnataka, besides 5 Best Oral and 6 Best Poster presentation Awards in National and International symposia, 10 Certificate of merit and 1 Certificate of Appreciation.
